A senior Courchevel 1850 chalet-side concierge sat with us on May 7 and walked through her 2026-2027 book of 28 chalet weeks. Le 1947 at Cheval Blanc Courchevel is the only three-Michelin-star restaurant in Courchevel, headed by Yannick Alleno since 2010 and awarded the third star in 2017. The dining room seats five tables and runs a single nightly seating in the winter season. The peak-week placement on a four-cover or six-cover table is a 120-day call against the prior-year booking window, with a deposit non-refundable inside 30 days of the date. The realistic concierge fee for a Christmas-New Year chalet week is 9,200 to 38,000 euros, separate from the chalet rate that clears 86,000 to 280,000 euros for a 1850 ridge property. The 30-day call for a peak-week Le 1947 table is the single placement she no longer takes. The piece below is the rate band, the 120-day timeline, the second-tier Cheval Blanc rooms, the Le Praz vs Jardin Alpin vs Le Tremplin location math, the helicopter line from Geneva, and the brief that closes a Courchevel chalet week without losing the Le 1947 seat.

The Courchevel 1850 chalet book runs 160 to 220 properties across the Jardin Alpin, Le Tremplin, Plantret, Cospillot, Cherus, Bellecote, and the Le Praz farmhouse cluster lower down. The peak chalet rate in the Christmas-New Year window clears 120,000 euros for a seven-bedroom Le Praz and crosses 280,000 euros for a ten-bedroom Jardin Alpin with the L'Apogee adjacency. The concierge we sat with holds 28 chalet weeks on her 2026-2027 calendar. Twelve of those are in the Christmas-New Year window. Six are in the February French half-term. The remainder are in mid-January and mid-March.
Eighty-nine percent of her book is repeat clients. The 11 percent new client share is the line she vets hardest because the new Courchevel client almost always anchors the chalet week on a Le 1947 dinner without securing the table first. The chalet contract gets signed, the family arrives on December 27, and the request lands on her desk at the eight-day window. The placement rate at the eight-day window in the peak season is under 6 percent. The chalet week then runs without its anchor.
The walkthrough below is hers. The placements, deposit timelines, and rate bands are 2026-2027-specific. We have audited her placements across two 2024-2025 client weeks and three 2025-2026 client weeks.
The 9,200 euro entry buys a remote concierge program with two chalet-side check-ins across the week. The concierge handles the restaurant placements (excluding Le 1947, which runs as a line item), the ski-school pickup line, the Mountain Air ski-fitting program, and the airport transfer. The 16,000 to 22,000 euro middle of the band, where most of her mid-January chalet book sits, buys a five-day chalet-side desk with a senior concierge in the chalet for breakfast and dinner each day, with the off-days covered remotely. The 38,000 euro top end is reserved for the Christmas-New Year week. It buys a daily chalet-side concierge plus a second on-mountain ski-host concierge for the lunch program, the Le 1947 placement, the helicopter transfer from Geneva or Lyon, the apres-ski program at Le Cap Horn or Le Bagatelle, and a 24-hour line on the New Year's Eve dinner. The concierge fee sits separate from the restaurant, ski-school, and spa spend, which on a 12-guest Christmas-New Year week clears at 48,000 to 180,000 euros depending on the program.
Le 1947 runs five tables and a single nightly winter seating. The Christmas-New Year window in 2026-2027 covers December 22 through January 4. The February half-term window covers February 13 through March 1. The peak-week placement on a four-cover or six-cover table is a 120-day call against the prior-year booking window. The senior concierge places her December 28 dinner on August 30 of the prior year. She places her December 31 dinner on September 2. She places her February 17 dinner on October 19. The placements are made against a Cheval Blanc reservation desk that holds the chalet's villa identity on the contract. The deposit is 800 to 1,400 euros per cover, non-refundable inside 30 days of the date. The placement requires the chalet contract to be signed at the time of booking. The new client who waits until December for a December 28 placement runs at a 4 to 8 percent placement rate.
The four anchors for the December 28 to January 4 week in 2026-2027 on her book are the Le 1947 dinner at Cheval Blanc, the Le Cap Horn closing-night dinner on the Altiport, the La Soucoupe long lunch on the Croisette, and the Le 1846 dinner at the Saint Roch (or Le Tremplin's Le Chiringuito night if the family prefers a different register). The four anchors carry the week. The remaining dinners drop into the gaps. The new client who tries to place Le 1947 twice in the same week is talked out of it. The placement is one dinner per chalet stay, two for a 10-night-plus chalet booking on the upper-bracket. The chalet that runs a Le 1947 on day two and a Le Bistrot du Praz on day five (Le Praz village) and a Le Chabichou two-star dinner on day six covers the destination's three-tier Michelin program in a way the chalet brief cannot replicate with chef bookings on the chalet.
One call type she no longer takes. The 30-day enquiry for a peak-week Le 1947 dinner. The placement rate on a December 5 enquiry for a December 28 dinner is under 4 percent. The failure forces the chalet brief to lean on Le Blanc (the brasserie sister at Cheval Blanc) or the chef's table program at Cheval Blanc as the third-tier alternate. Both are credible alternates. Neither is Le 1947. The senior concierge does not put a chalet client on a 4 percent placement rate when the chalet brief depends on a confirmed dinner. The client who insists is shown the two alternates and asked to lock one. The shoulder-week placement at Le 1947 (mid-January or mid-March) runs at a 22 to 38 percent placement rate inside the 30-day window, which is workable. The peak-week placement at the 30-day window is not.
The Le 1947 dinner runs a 90-minute service. The chalet drop-off and pickup at Cheval Blanc is restricted to the chalet's authorized driver inside the resort road plan. A Jardin Alpin chalet is a 4-minute drive to Cheval Blanc. A Le Tremplin chalet is a 6-minute drive. A Plantret chalet is an 8-minute drive. A Le Praz farmhouse is a 14 to 22-minute drive, with the additional risk of the Tania-Le Praz road closing for snow clearance in a heavy week. The chalet that is locked on a Le 1947 dinner and a 9:00 p.m. New Year's Eve placement runs a tighter drop-off window from a Le Praz address. The senior concierge will move a Le 1947 placement to an 8:00 p.m. or 8:30 p.m. seating for a Le Praz chalet to absorb the 22-minute return drive. The location math is the one line the new client underprices when comparing chalet rates between Le Praz and Jardin Alpin.
The Geneva-to-Courchevel-Altiport helicopter for 6 to 8 pax clears at 14,000 to 22,000 euros one-way in the peak week. The Lyon-Courchevel run is 12,000 to 18,000 euros. The Annecy-Courchevel run is 8,400 to 12,800 euros for a positioning out of a Geneva-arrived family. The chalet brief that does not specify the helicopter window ends up with a 4-hour ground transfer from Geneva via Albertville, which is not what the family booked. The Altiport closing-time discipline matters. The Altiport closes at 19:00 in the winter season. A late-afternoon Geneva slot that pushes the helicopter into a 19:15 window means the helicopter routes to Chambery and the ground transfer runs from there. The senior concierge holds the helicopter slot at 14:00 to 16:00 for the arrival day and 10:00 to 12:00 for the departure day. The arrival-day late slot is the single most common chalet brief failure on the transfer line.
Le Cap Horn on the Altiport runs the apres-ski lunch slot from 12:30 to 15:30, with the closing band at 15:30 to 17:00 the harder placement. The senior concierge places the closing band by November 1 for the Christmas-New Year week. Le Bagatelle in the Courchevel village (the franchise sister of the Saint-Tropez parent) runs the 16:00 to 19:00 apres slot, with the table next to the DJ booth running a 14-day window for a 6-cover party. The Le 1846 at Saint Roch hotel runs the third apres path on a low-volume room with a longer service window and a placement that clears at 7 days even in the peak. The chalet brief that runs all three on a single week clears at 8,000 to 14,000 euros of apres alone, before the dinner program. The Le Cap Horn closing band is the line the senior concierge flags as the rate-creep watch in 2026-2027. The closing band cleared at 4,200 euros for a six-cover party in 2024. It clears at 5,800 to 6,400 euros in 2026.
Forty percent at lock-in, 40 percent four weeks out, the balance on arrival. The 40 percent is non-refundable inside 10 weeks for the Christmas-New Year window and inside six weeks for the rest of the high season. The Le 1947 deposit at the 120-day window is held at 800 to 1,400 euros per cover, with the cancellation policy non-refundable inside 30 days of the date. The Cheval Blanc Le Blanc deposit at 60 days is held at 280 to 480 euros per cover. The chef's table at Cheval Blanc at the 60-day window is held at 1,200 to 1,800 euros per cover with a 10-cover minimum. The single dispute pattern the concierge flags is a client who decides at the seven-day window to swap a Le 1947 booking for a chef's table on the chalet. The Le 1947 deposit is forfeited. The chef's table is a separate booking. The client who runs that swap at 7 days is paying twice for one dinner.
Three lines on the first call. The chalet, the dates, and the headcount split by age band and ski-level. Three lines on the second call. The four anchor dinners the family wants placed first (with Le 1947 as the first line if applicable), the helicopter transfer window, and the ski-school preference. Three lines on the third call. The dietary and wine register, the closing-night preference, and the apres-ski program for the closing weekend. Nine lines clear the program inside the 120-day Le 1947 window. Inside 60 days the Le 1947 placement is the residual. Our work on the Courchevel ski host roster covers the on-mountain side of the chalet program. Our piece on the Courchevel destination guide walks the broader chalet buying decision.
