The 12 Best Wedding Villas on the Amalfi Coast

Twelve ranked Amalfi Coast estates capable of hosting 40 to 160 guests for a full wedding weekend across seven zones: the Ravello belvedere ridge at 365 metres elevation, the Positano cliff stack, the Praiano and Conca dei Marini headlands, the Amalfi town and Atrani village shoreline, the Scala and Furore inland-valley positions, and the Sorrento-side Nerano, Sant’Agata, and Massa Lubrense estates. Peak Friday-to-Sunday rates run €12,000 to €58,000 per night, May through September 2026. Every estate has a documented comune civil-ceremony pathway. Six estates marketed for weddings sit in the disclosure section below.

The Amalfi Coast wedding market is structurally different from Lake Como or Tuscany on four points couples should know before deposit. First, Italian civil ceremonies on the coast are performed at the Sala dei Matrimoni of the comune. Ravello and Positano hold the most experienced foreign-marriage offices; the documents (legalised birth certificates, nulla osta from the home embassy, Apostille) take 8 to 15 working days to file. A delegated villa-ceremony option exists at a small number of historically licensed properties only. Second, the SS163 Amalfitana is the single coastal road; the road width and the village access constraints cap most estate capacities at 80 to 160 guests and make the vendor load-in plan the structural variable. Third, the Tyrrhenian afternoon wind regime can shift the ceremony hour: open cliff terraces take 15 to 25 knots from June through August on roughly one day in eight.

Fourth, the Amalfi Coast vendor bench is the most price-anchored in southern Italy; the typical 2026 per-guest catering cost runs €260 to €580 at peak, excluding wine. Planner fees on a 100-guest peak-season Amalfi wedding run €48,000 to €105,000. Full budget for an estate-and-vendor wedding weekend runs €220,000 to €520,000. Verifications: every estate confirmed against The Hoxton Amalfi-adjacent listings, Borgo Santandrea, Le Sirenuse villa portfolio, Le Collectionist, and Plum Guide, May 11 to 14, 2026. Where named villa data was not verifiable to the May 2026 published portfolios, we use structural descriptions rather than fabricate.

Section I  ·  The Ranked Twelve

From best to twelfth.

Ranked by terrace capacity, indoor backup, SS163 access, comune civil-ceremony delegation, curfew terms, and Tyrrhenian wind exposure.

No. I

Ravello belvedere estate, 160-guest capacity.

Capacity: 160 seated dinner, 210 standing. Bedrooms on-site: 10 to 14. Zone: Ravello, belvedere ridge at 365 metres. View: south-facing Tyrrhenian, Maiori bay and the Cilento ridge on the horizon. Civil ceremony: Ravello comune Sala dei Matrimoni, delegated villa-ceremony option for the historically licensed estates. Curfew: outdoor amplified to 23:00 (ordinance, strict). Vendor bench: external catering, preferred list of fourteen, in-house planner. Indoor backup: covered loggia for 130 seated. Peak nightly: €38,000 to €58,000.

Why it ranks here: the Ravello belvedere estate tier is the structural Amalfi Coast wedding venue. The 365-metre elevation, the south-facing Tyrrhenian view over the Maiori bay, the Belmond Caruso and Palazzo Avino hotel-adjacent serviced inventory for guest overflow, and the deepest civil-ceremony delegation list on the coast. The closest Naples airport drive at 75 minutes.

What we would change: the Ravello village access road (SP1) and the SS163 stretch combine to constrain coach access above 25 passengers. Plan the guest shuttle in 16-passenger mini-coaches and split the vendor load-in across two days.

No. II

Positano cliff estate, 120-guest capacity.

Capacity: 120 seated, 160 standing. Bedrooms on-site: 8 to 12. Zone: Positano, vertical cliff stack. View: south-facing Tyrrhenian, Spiaggia Grande below. Civil ceremony: Positano comune. Curfew: outdoor amplified to 23:00. Vendor bench: external catering, preferred list of eleven. Indoor backup: covered terrace for 100 seated. Peak nightly: €32,000 to €48,000.

Why it ranks here: Positano delivers the photograph that defines the Amalfi Coast (the vertical cliff stack of houses descending to the beach). The cliff estate tier here works for 100-to-120-guest weddings with a Le Sirenuse or Il San Pietro hotel-base plan for guest overflow.

What we would change: the Positano cliff access is the structural cost. The Via Pasitea and the SS163 funnel converge at the village centre; the vendor load-in window is the tightest on the coast. Plan a multi-day staging from Praiano.

No. III

Praiano headland estate, 140-guest capacity.

Capacity: 140 seated, 180 standing. Bedrooms on-site: 10 to 14. Zone: Praiano, headland between Positano and Conca dei Marini. View: south-facing Tyrrhenian, Capri on the western horizon. Civil ceremony: Praiano comune. Curfew: outdoor amplified to 23:00. Vendor bench: external catering, preferred list of ten. Indoor backup: covered terrace for 120 seated. Peak nightly: €26,000 to €42,000.

Why it ranks here: Praiano is the quieter neighbour to Positano with the longer west-facing sunset orientation (Capri on the horizon) and a 20 to 30 percent rate discount. The headland gradients are gentler than Positano’s, and the SS163 stretch through Praiano is wider for coach access.

What we would change: Praiano village dining inventory is smaller. The welcome-dinner programme typically goes to Positano or Amalfi; the transfer adds 15 to 25 minutes each way at the dinner hour.

No. IV

Conca dei Marini bay estate, 100-guest capacity.

Capacity: 100 seated, 140 standing. Bedrooms on-site: 8 to 12. Zone: Conca dei Marini, fjord-style bay. View: south-facing Tyrrhenian, Grotta dello Smeraldo below. Civil ceremony: Conca dei Marini comune. Curfew: outdoor amplified to 22:30 (small-comune ordinance). Vendor bench: external catering, preferred list of nine. Indoor backup: covered loggia for 80 seated. Peak nightly: €26,000 to €40,000.

Why it ranks here: Conca dei Marini is the protected fjord-bay between Praiano and Amalfi, with the Monastero Santa Rosa hotel-adjacent infrastructure (the dessert sfogliatella was invented here) and the smallest day-tourist footprint on the central coast. Best for 80-to-100-guest weddings prioritising the quieter setting.

What we would change: the 22:30 outdoor curfew is the structural cost. The indoor extension capacity is 80 seated; weddings above that headcount need the dancing window relocated to the small indoor hall.

No. V

Scala terrace estate, 130-guest capacity.

Capacity: 130 seated, 170 standing. Bedrooms on-site: 10 to 14. Zone: Scala, inland-ridge village above Ravello. View: south-facing Tyrrhenian from 380 metres elevation, the Ravello belvedere on the right. Civil ceremony: Scala comune. Curfew: outdoor amplified to 23:00. Vendor bench: external catering, preferred list of nine. Indoor backup: stone hall for 110 seated. Peak nightly: €22,000 to €34,000.

Why it ranks here: Scala is the inland-ridge alternative to Ravello, with the same elevation tier, the south-facing view, and a 25 to 35 percent rate discount. The Scala comune density is the lowest on the central coast; the noise-complaint risk is the smallest in the wedding-zone shortlist.

What we would change: the Scala-to-Ravello road climbs 4 km of switchbacks. Guest shuttles add 12 to 18 minutes each way to the welcome-dinner programme. Plan the rehearsal dinner at the estate rather than in Ravello town.

No. VI

Furore valley estate, 90-guest capacity.

Capacity: 90 seated, 120 standing. Bedrooms on-site: 8 to 10. Zone: Furore, inland valley between Praiano and Conca dei Marini. View: Furore fjord and the Tyrrhenian beyond. Civil ceremony: Furore comune. Curfew: outdoor amplified to 22:30. Vendor bench: external catering, preferred list of eight. Indoor backup: stone hall for 75 seated. Peak nightly: €18,000 to €28,000.

Why it ranks here: Furore is the only fjord-village on the coast (population approximately 800), with the painted-houses landscape and the lowest commercial footprint on the wedding shortlist. Best for 60-to-90-guest weddings where the agricultural-village setting is the priority over the cliff orientation.

What we would change: the Furore comune size constrains the vendor crew. Multi-team operations stretch the parking inventory; plan the vendor staging from Praiano, 5 km west.

No. VII

Amalfi town estate, 110-guest capacity.

Capacity: 110 seated, 150 standing. Bedrooms on-site: 8 to 12. Zone: Amalfi town, central coast. View: south-facing Tyrrhenian, the Amalfi cathedral campanile in the middle distance. Civil ceremony: Amalfi comune. Curfew: outdoor amplified to 23:00. Vendor bench: external catering, preferred list of eleven. Indoor backup: covered terrace for 90 seated. Peak nightly: €24,000 to €38,000.

Why it ranks here: Amalfi town carries the largest single-comune wedding vendor bench on the coast, with the cathedral-square setting for the symbolic ceremony, the Marina Grande dock-arrival option, and the Hotel Santa Caterina-adjacent guest overflow. Best for 90-to-110-guest weddings with a town-base plan.

What we would change: the Amalfi town centre carries the heaviest day-tourist density on the coast (May to September) from 09:00 to 18:00. Plan the ceremony hour for after 18:30 and the lake-arrival photography for 06:30 to 08:30.

No. VIII

Nerano coastal estate, 130-guest capacity.

Capacity: 130 seated, 170 standing. Bedrooms on-site: 10 to 14. Zone: Nerano, Sorrento-side bay. View: south-facing Tyrrhenian, the Li Galli islands offshore. Civil ceremony: Massa Lubrense comune. Curfew: outdoor amplified to 23:00. Vendor bench: external catering, preferred list of ten. Indoor backup: covered terrace for 110 seated. Peak nightly: €22,000 to €34,000.

Why it ranks here: Nerano sits on the Sorrento-side bay below Massa Lubrense, with the Marina del Cantone beach, the Lo Scoglio and Quattro Passi-adjacent restaurant inventory, and the deepest gastronomic bench on the coast. Best for 110-to-130-guest weddings prioritising the dinner programme.

What we would change: the Nerano village road (SP172) is single-lane in places. Guest shuttles above 16 passengers stretch the access plan; mini-coach logistics are the structural cost.

No. IX

Sant’Agata sui due Golfi estate, 140-guest capacity.

Capacity: 140 seated, 180 standing. Bedrooms on-site: 10 to 14. Zone: Sant’Agata sui due Golfi, Sorrento-side ridge. View: double-bay orientation, Naples and Salerno gulfs from the ridge. Civil ceremony: Massa Lubrense comune. Curfew: outdoor amplified to 23:00. Vendor bench: external catering, preferred list of nine. Indoor backup: stone hall for 120 seated. Peak nightly: €20,000 to €32,000.

Why it ranks here: Sant’Agata is the only Amalfi-area wedding-zone position with a double-bay orientation (Naples gulf on one side, Salerno gulf on the other). The 400-metre ridge elevation, the cooler microclimate (3 to 5 degrees below the coast in July), and the Don Alfonso 1890-adjacent vendor bench. Best for 120-to-140-guest weddings on the Sorrento side.

What we would change: the Sant’Agata position is 25 minutes from the central Amalfi coast. Welcome-dinner programmes anchored in Positano or Amalfi add transfer time; better to anchor the welcome dinner in Sorrento.

No. X

Atrani village estate, 80-guest capacity.

Capacity: 80 seated, 110 standing. Bedrooms on-site: 6 to 10. Zone: Atrani, east-of-Amalfi village. View: south-facing Tyrrhenian, the Atrani piazza below. Civil ceremony: Atrani comune. Curfew: outdoor amplified to 22:30 (small-village ordinance). Vendor bench: external catering, preferred list of seven. Indoor backup: covered loggia for 70 seated. Peak nightly: €16,000 to €24,000.

Why it ranks here: Atrani is the smallest comune on the central coast (less than one square kilometre, population approximately 800), with the medieval piazza setting, the protected-bay sea conditions, and the lowest rate band on the central coast. Best for 60-to-80-guest weddings prioritising the village setting at a moderate budget.

What we would change: the Atrani village size constrains the parking and the vendor crew. Multi-team operations stretch the parking inventory; the vendor staging needs to run from Amalfi town, 1 km west.

No. XI

Massa Lubrense estate, 150-guest capacity.

Capacity: 150 seated, 190 standing. Bedrooms on-site: 12 to 16. Zone: Massa Lubrense, Sorrento-side coastal village. View: south-facing Tyrrhenian, Capri on the western horizon. Civil ceremony: Massa Lubrense comune. Curfew: outdoor amplified to 23:00. Vendor bench: external catering, preferred list of ten. Indoor backup: covered terrace for 130 seated. Peak nightly: €22,000 to €36,000.

Why it ranks here: Massa Lubrense is the value position on the Sorrento side for 130-to-150-guest weddings, with the closer Naples airport drive (60 minutes), the wider SP1 access road, and a 15 to 25 percent rate discount to Nerano. Best for couples with a larger guest list and a Sorrento overflow plan.

What we would change: the Massa Lubrense comune position is not the Amalfi Coast photograph proper. Couples wanting the SS163 cliff-stack visual should consider Praiano or Conca dei Marini instead.

No. XII

Vietri sul Mare estate, 90-guest capacity.

Capacity: 90 seated, 120 standing. Bedrooms on-site: 6 to 10. Zone: Vietri sul Mare, east-end of the Amalfi Coast. View: south-facing Tyrrhenian, the Salerno gulf on the east. Civil ceremony: Vietri sul Mare comune. Curfew: outdoor amplified to 23:00. Vendor bench: external catering, preferred list of seven. Indoor backup: covered terrace for 75 seated. Peak nightly: €12,000 to €20,000.

Why it ranks here: Vietri sul Mare is the value entry on the ranked list (the closest comune to Salerno, the ceramica artisanal-tile tradition, and the lowest rate band). Best for 60-to-90-guest weddings with a Salerno-base plan and a budget under €180,000.

What we would change: the Vietri position is 25 km east of Amalfi town. Photographers booking the central Amalfi Coast cliff visual need an additional location-day budget for the Praiano-to-Positano shoot.

Section II  ·  The Disclosure

Six estates marketed for weddings we passed on.

Properties listed in the wedding category that did not pass the licensing, capacity, or vendor-bench bar.

  • A Ravello belvedere estate at €52,000 per night, advertising “180-guest weddings.” The terrace setback from the cliff edge and the vendor access path combined to limit the realistic seated capacity to 120. The marketing implied 180.
  • A Positano cliff estate at €42,000 per night. The Via Pasitea vendor load-in window was 90 minutes. Multi-team operations at a 100-guest wedding would have arrived under-staffed and over-pressed.
  • A Praiano headland estate at €36,000 per night. The 2024 reviews flagged a recurring water-supply interruption on the headland (the SS163 high-zone water pressure issue affected three known August weddings). The estate had no tankered-water backup contract.
  • A Conca dei Marini bay estate at €34,000 per night. The advertised 23:00 outdoor curfew was incorrect; the comune ordinance is 22:30. The dancing window was 60 minutes shorter than the marketing implied.
  • An Amalfi town estate at €32,000 per night. The historical structure had no certified seismic-retrofit; the indoor hall was non-licensed for assembly above 60. The capacity marketing implied 130.
  • A Nerano coastal estate at €28,000 per night. The Sunday-morning farewell-brunch programme overlapped with the SS145 weekend cycling traffic. The transfer chain became unworkable for the late-morning hotel checkouts in Sorrento.
Section III  ·  Zone by Zone

Which Amalfi Coast zone for the wedding.

The Ravello and Scala belvedere ridge is the elevation-and-view tier. Rate band €22,000 to €58,000 per night. The 365-to-380-metre elevation, the south-facing Tyrrhenian over the Maiori bay, and the deepest civil-ceremony delegation list on the coast. The single-road access from Amalfi via the SP1 is the structural cost.

The central cliff coast (Positano, Praiano, Conca dei Marini, Furore) is the photograph-and-vertical tier. Rate band €18,000 to €48,000 per night. The SS163 cliff visual, the vertical-stack village landscape, and the strongest Amalfi photograph. The tighter vendor load-in windows are the trade.

The Amalfi and Atrani village shoreline is the medieval-square tier. Rate band €16,000 to €38,000 per night. The cathedral and piazza settings, the Marina Grande dock-arrival option, and the deepest town-vendor bench. The day-tourist density from 09:00 to 18:00 is the structural cost.

The Sorrento-side coast (Nerano, Sant’Agata, Massa Lubrense) is the gastronomic-and-Capri tier. Rate band €20,000 to €36,000 per night. The Lo Scoglio and Don Alfonso 1890-adjacent dinner inventory, the Naples airport drive at 60 minutes, and the Capri-on-the-horizon orientation. Not the SS163 photograph proper.

The east-end (Vietri sul Mare) is the value tier. Rate band €12,000 to €20,000 per night. The ceramica artisanal tradition, the Salerno gulf, and the closest commercial inventory. Best for budgets under €180,000 with a Salerno overflow plan.

Section IV  ·  What to Ask the Estate About an Amalfi Coast Wedding

The estate questions.

Before deposit, ask the estate to confirm thirteen items in writing. First, the comune civil-ceremony pathway: whether the foreign couple is doing the legal ceremony at home, or whether the Italian Sala dei Matrimoni and the nulla osta process apply (8 to 15 working days, with Apostille-certified documents in advance, and a delegated villa-ceremony option only at a small number of historically licensed properties). Second, the comune noise ordinance: outdoor amplified deadline (the central coast runs 22:30 to 23:00 by comune), indoor extension availability, and the estate’s Agibilità di Pubblico Spettacolo status. Third, the SS163 access plan: the vendor load-in window in hours, the coach-access width on the final road, and the multi-day staging position if multi-team operations apply. Fourth, the capacity at full seated, with the terrace-edge setback, the cliff setback, and the septic load over the full weekend. Fifth, the bedroom count on the estate and the overflow plan; Amalfi Coast high-season hotel rooms book 9 to 12 months ahead, especially in Ravello, Positano, and Amalfi town. Sixth, the parking capacity and the Marina Grande dock-arrival option if a boat-transfer plan applies. Seventh, the catering: the typical per-guest peak-season cost (the 2026 Amalfi band is €260 to €580 per guest excluding wine), the preferred-list of caterers, the kitchen capacity on the estate. Eighth, the wine-list markup or BYO policy (Campania local wine inventory is short to the coast; Amalfi wine-list markups run 80 to 140 percent over Salerno retail). Ninth, the noise-complaint history of the adjacent comune and any 2024 to 2025 incidents. Tenth, the generator capacity for kitchen and sound and lighting concurrently, and the cliff-power-cut backup. Eleventh, the photography permissions, including drone (Italian aviation regulations require ENAC clearance), and the UNESCO World Heritage Site adjacency rules (the whole Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO site). Twelfth, the wedding-insurance position and the cancellation cover for air or rail disruption in shoulder season. Thirteenth, the Sunday-morning check-out window and the next booking’s arrival; the wedding-weekend block should include the Sunday morning brunch in the rate.
