Exclusive Resorts earns four of five in our platform review, the highest of any membership product we track. The destination-club model puts a $195,000 floor on the 10-year membership (refundable on resignation), charges $1,835 per Plan Day for 2026, and opens more than 400 residences across over 75 destinations to roughly 4,000 members, with hotel-grade service inside private homes. It sits inside The Exclusive Collective, the Steve Case-led group that also owns Onefinestay and, since February 2026, Inspirato.
The alternative case turns on two questions: is a six-figure refundable deposit the right structure, and do you travel enough to justify any club at all. The seven options below answer both, split between the rival membership and the pay-per-trip platforms you would use instead of joining.

The closest Exclusive Resorts alternative now sits under the same owner. Inspirato runs a Club tier and an unlimited-nights Pass tier against roughly 300 controlled homes, heaviest in U.S. and Mexico ski-and-beach markets. The Exclusive Collective took it private on 2026-02-03 at $4.27 per share, roughly a $59 million equity value.
The structural difference is the money. Exclusive Resorts asks a $195,000 refundable deposit plus per-day dues; Inspirato sells an annual subscription with no six-figure upfront. For one or two luxury weeks a year, no club deposit pays back, and Plum Guide is the transactional default. Roughly 3,000 inspected homes, about a 3% acceptance rate through a 150-criteria test, and the firmest dispute backstop in the category. No initiation, no dues, no capital tied up.

Exclusive Resorts is strong in the United States and resort destinations but lighter on European estate villas. Le Collectionist holds roughly 2,200 villas across more than 50 destinations, a B Corp since 2024, with regional offices and a concierge team built for France, the Mediterranean, and North Africa. For a 10-bedroom Provence or Mallorca estate, the club is not the right tool.

If the recurring trip is a Sicilian estate or a Greek-island week, a specialist beats a global club. The Thinking Traveller holds roughly 228 properties on exclusive contract with local managers, a Trustpilot rating of 4.7 of 5, and eastern-Mediterranean depth from the 2023 White Key acquisition.

A destination club gives no transferable hotel currency. Mr & Mrs Smith holds roughly 1,975 hotels and 230 villas, and since Hyatt’s 2023 acquisition and the April 2024 World of Hyatt integration, about 700 listings earn points and accept award nights. Exclusive Resorts covers more than 75 destinations, but a single off-map trip does not justify joining. Airbnb Luxe holds roughly 2,000 inspected properties (300-point inspection, built on the 2017 Luxury Retreats acquisition) at a lower entry price, reaching destinations no club lists. Of seven Luxe bookings tested in 2025, three were strong, two average, two weak.

Exclusive Resorts members pay for inspected residences and 90-minute on-trip resolution. Vrbo Luxe is the opposite: a filter on the Vrbo marketplace with no per-listing inspection, a wildly variable manager-of-record, and two of eleven tested 2025 bookings carrying material misrepresentations. High-frequency, multi-region households with capital to commit. For six-plus weeks a year across the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean, the 400-plus residence roster and the refundable-deposit structure beat stitching together transactional bookings, and the deposit returns on resignation.
Service consistency above all. The 90-minute on-trip resolution we measured across the member network in 2025 is faster than any transactional platform and faster than Inspirato. For a buyer who values that certainty, the club earns its floor.
The right Exclusive Resorts alternative depends on your trip count and your appetite for a six-figure deposit. High-frequency, multi-region, capital-comfortable travelers should weigh the club seriously.
